Institution of Royal Engineers
The InstRE is a registered member of the Engineering Council with the delegation to award professional accreditation. The InstRE has the delegation to award the following accreditations, click on links to find out more about the award process.
This is only available to InstRE members, all serving Royal Engineers are registered members.
Financial Award for EngTech and CEng.
The MOD has set an award of £3000 for A1 qualified individuals from Spr to Cpl who have been awarded EngTech after Apr 18, also a £2000 award is available for GE's and OR8/9 who achieve CEng. More details and the application form can be found on the link below.
Army Skills Offer
Get accreditation for your experience gained over your military career and career courses. Only available to serving personnel.
Funding Routes
Standard Learning credits
Military personnel are entitled a yearly payment of £175 to cover up to 80% of an individual course. The link below explains the selection criteria. SLC.
Enhanced Learning Credits
Serving and ex-serving MOD personnel are also entitled to subsidized higher education. Personnel are entitled to up to three individual payments. To find out more information follow the link below. ELCAS.
Bursary Scheme
The RE-CPD team also provide bursary funding for Royal Engineer personnel over the rank of LCpl, with over two years of service remaining to assist in gaining a level 3 qualification or above. Successful applicants can receive up to £1000 per year for three years. Bursary.
Military Supported Membership scheme
The MOD will now finically support military personnel in Institutional membership, for EngTech, IEng and CEng accredited personnel. The Links below provide direction with the required application forms.
